Eiton is a young newcomer producer/DJ from France. He is part of the promoting association “UNC.Audio” and does produce as “n0te” together with Kenei. Eiton has been making waves in the Techno-DNB scene even before his first release: his epic “Kopilot” was a huge underground hit ever since mid 2008. In 2009 it was released on Impakt Records, shortly after his debut “Ethanol” (alongside a Pyro Remix) on the Digital Venom label. He has also released tunes on Melting Pot Digital, T3K Recordings and the Belgian netlabels Necroid and Cyber Crunk. He is also signed to Synchronize Recordings, SCPTX, Sinuous, Insekto and some coming-soon-labels. In summary, there is no doubt that Eiton will make his way trough the ranks of technoid Drum & Bass.

After his vinyl debut on Dramfank, two digital releases on Tilt-Recordings / T-Files and three more tunes on the netlabels Fish Recordings and Internet Recordings, Mefjus delivers another one of his midrange-driven techfunk rollers with a dramatic intro & build-up and a surprising break. And 2010 will see much more releases… Watch him!

Here is another technoid outing by the never tired German producer Kaiza and his allies Try and Error. It rolls forward very much with the Kaiza-typical fast staccato percussions which are nearly inaudible to the untrained ear but form a dynamic core within the centre of the reduced, straight halfbar beat. The bassline and bassdrums together with the snare form a virtual 4/4 structure which is broken by a concert of stabs and mangled samples and many edits, all in a counterdynamic arrangement, 100% Techno. The tune is significantly different from many older Kaiza productions in that the main elements of the beat are not so dominant in the mixdown but rather merge with the percussion layers and even the bass, creating a dense entity of interchanging rythms (the outro reveals this character of the tune by stripping it almost completely down to the beat).

“Koo” by Isotop + Shots + Kaiza has been released on the netlabel Fish Recordings (FISH001):

there is a new net-label called fish recordings:
fish recordings is another one of those unknown, not really needed and
superficial attempts to gain acceptance within an underground
music-scene which are usually called “label”.
it is based right in the middle of nowhere (and if you are honest you do
not really want to know!). dj zoidberg and mc moby dick, the two
dilettantes behind this fun project will do a lot to get some attention:
they take some stupid beats, a bit of unfunny artwork and too much silly
promo texts and release it for free (due to the fact that nobody will
buy this crap!)
music should be a fun thing and bring people together to have a good
time. so, dont get fat-assed sitting at your computer, having no friends
and life and being broke all the time like the idiots running this right
here and take the stuff and show it to everybody!here it is, the first release on fish recordings:
isotop + shots + kaiza – “koo” [fishrecordings / FISH001]
you have to face the truth: dnb is dead, the hype is over and nobody is
selling any records nowadays. young girls are interested in tech-house
and minimal affairs now and so guys follow: parties are empty, labels
have to be shut down and radiostations loose the last listeners.
what is the reason behind this developments?
girls do not want to take part in a scene of bloodthirsty, braineating
and brutal zombies misbehaving on dancefloors and showing how hard they
are by cutting off the arms of others to wave them around. and thats the
main point in most of the tunes at the moment: they are grimey, dark and
bloody all the way…
the artists behind this tune tried to do something different back then.
but this track does not represent the style of them anymore, so they are
back in producing grimey, dark and bloody stuff again for a bunch of
people liking to be bloodthirsty, braineating and brutal who want to
misbehave on dancefloors and show how hard they are by cutting off the
arms of others to wave them around!

Krot is a newcomer from St. Petersburg in Russia. In the past year he had several digital and free releases on the well respected russian label TAM; also on Naturality Sound System, Mindtech and on the German netlabel Anxiety Disorder; with more tunes signed to the Italian label Modulate. Now he makes his guest appearance on T-FREE with this techy robotfunk tune that creeps up your ear just like an animal coming out of the shadow…

2R are a duo located in Kishinev, Moldova. Their name is relatively new to the international Drum & Bass circus, but has already appeared on several russian CD releases. Then, in spring 2009, 2R were featured on the Rare Grooves Vol.2 LP on Zardonic’s netlabel Zardonic Recordings and put out a digital EP on Ammunition Records shortly after. Now they show some more of their talent with this techy stepper “Warning”, a solid piece of earcandy!

Term is a DJ and producer from Bonn, Germany. He has been making beats ever since he was 14, and on his active musical journey he came across Downbeat, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass and lately Dubstep. His Drum & Bass releases so far mostly took place on the (now defunct) Producer-Network label. The other guy, Doe, is located in Hamburg, Germany. He is into visual (especially 3-dimensional) arts and released some Dubstep tunes on Producer-Network. These two have teamed up for this tune which somehow manages to escape all attempts to pidgeon-hole it… this one is simply good music; deep and timeless.

Effect is a newcomer from Lodz in Poland, the polish equivalent of Mannheim in Germany. He is only 18 years old, started producing Drum & Bass tunes just in 2007 and has been hooked to the Techno-DNB sound immediately (aside from that he makes Hardtechno-tunes). Naturally he has not yet managed to catch a lot of attention on an international level, but his ideas do not need to be hidden…

As the number and diversity of Drum & Bass producers is still growing, a lot of interesting music has been produced lately. Therefore, T-Files and Kaiza’s T3K imprint are having a busy time with many digital releases over the past months: one every week, mostly alternating between the two labels (T-FREE has not really slowed down either). And there is not going to be a summer pause…
Last week there was no release only due to a computer change in the main headquarter skyscraper of the Tilt-Recordings Empire (and the usual hick-ups coming with new computers). But as that problem is halfway solved, the labels’ system is running again. The next thing is a digital Album by the Ukrainian DJ and producer Redco, coming on T-Files very soon. It is entitled “Soulfunk LP” and packed with Neurofunk dancefloor material.
Soon after that, the Nr.1 artist on Tilt-Recording, Budoka (who has recently built himself a new studio and is crafting beats again), will finally make his long overdue T-Files debut.
Furthermore, tunes by guest artists like Walder, Eiton, Paperclip, Try and Error, Proton Kid, Forbidden Socity, Markoman and others are signed and waiting for their release, as well as more tunes by Isotop, Kaiza and Shots (including the Isotop remix of Spinor’s “Moloch”).
The issue of vinyl records brings bad news AND good news: the release of the next one, TILT011, will most probably not happen before 2010 due to the usual lack of funds… But to make it up for only 1 vinyl release on Tilt-Recordings in 2009, a remix by the mighty Misanthrop of Neosignal is planned.
A bunch of tunes by Kaiza and Isotop have been signed to a number of other labels. Their names must remain untold though because it is up to them to announce the signings themselves at the right time of their choice
For starters, early July saw the release of these two tunes on Flight Digital FLTDIG021:
Budoka – “Pleasure Ride” (Isotop + Kaiza RMX)
Bassrk – “Head On The Ground” (Isotop + Kaiza RMX)
…and of these two on Anxiety Disorder ADRALB001 Dead Source LP:
Cyclone – “Acetylene” (Kaiza Remix)
Isotop + Kaiza Feat. Shots – “Hybrid”
More will follow.…Apart from music itself, there are also some minor points of organisation which MIGHT be interesting if you follow Tilt-Recordings and the affiliated digital labels closely:
- Blog.
There is now a blog which gives an overview on all releases from these labels around the Trio-Music crew and other related stuff (podcasts, mixes, events etc.):http://blog.trio-music.de
Of course the http://www.trio-music.de, http://www.tilt-recordings.com and http://www.tilt-recordings.com/t-free websites are still online, get updated regularly and function as proper archives and detailed info sources. The blog is “just” a blog for keeping updated on the boldest news from this camp.
- Server errors.
Due to heavy traffic, the www.trio-music.de domain (on which all of the labels’ clips and textfiles are hosted) encounters problems sometimes: when more than 100 people try to access it at the same moment, the server produces a 503 error to the 101th person (and above). But it does not mean the server is actually broken.
For example, if you try to download a T-FREE tune and get a 503 error, do not be alarmed. Simply try again. In most cases, it works fine just a few seconds later.
We will probably have to move to a different provider, but this could take quite a while. Anyway there are clips in the shops as well, the Tilt-Recordings and T-FREE homepages still works fine and for all the T-FREE tunes there are mirrors on the label website. Sorry for the inconviniency!- Tilt-Recordings / T-Files shops.
The Dancerecords shop appears to have gone under (of course without paying any of the labels who had tunes there… proffessional rip-off business), so at the moment the only shops for buying Tilt & T-Files tunes digitally are ithinkmusic, Digital-Tunes, Juno, Beatsdigital and (usually with some weeks delay) Beatport.
Chemical-Records and Trackitdown may eventually follow in the future, but for now the tunes are only available here:http://tilt.ithinkmusic.com/my-store/releases.php?page=LR
http://www.juno.co.uk/labels/Tilt/?s_media_type=all-media
http://www.digital-tunes.net/labels/tilt
http://www.beatsdigital.com/index.php?label_id=5942
http://www.beatport.com/labels/tilt%20recordings
- T3K shops.
The tunes on T3K (the digital-only label of Kaiza) were available via the Tilt / T-Files profiles in the digital stores until the end of June. This has now changed, T3K has its own shop profiles now:http://tilt.ithinkmusic.com/my-store/releases.php?page=903
http://www.juno.co.uk/labels/T3K/download
http://www.digital-tunes.net/labels/t3k
http://www.beatsdigital.com/index.php?label_id=14692
…the releases up to June are also on http://www.beatport.com/labels/tilt%20recordings
That’s all the more or less important stuff for now.
Watch http://blog.trio-music.de or http://www.trio-music.de/blog for the next releases etc.bless

Bassrk is a DJ and producer from Hamburg, Germany. He has been around in the local scene since 2002,
deejaying and organizing events in/around Hamburg. For some years he has been focussing on production and released some of his tunes on Destination Digital, Mindtech Recordings and the netlabel Anxiety Disorder. He did some collaborations with artists like Chook and underwent hardship in the studio to improve his production skills. Now, he makes his T-FREE debut with the dub version of “Mephisto”, a tune that will probably never come out in its original version because of a long, distinctive vocal by Klaus Kinski the copyright of which could never be cleared…

Try and Error release their 4th tune, again a feature-collaboration with Kaiza. After the experimental “Blitz” [T-FREE063] this is again a reduced Techno-DNB tool.

Since “Appendix” [T-FREE028], the unstoppable Dementia has had a bunch of vinyl releases on labels such as Trust In Music, Disturbed, Shadow Law, .shadybrain, Flight, Citrus and DSCI4. He toured the world and doubtlessly made himself a well established artist, and he will not stop here at all. With many more Drum & Bass releases to follow in the future and with his House sideproject “The City Of Dogs”, his musical career will be quite interesting to watch! Today he returns to T-FREE with a Birthday present to the scene: “Rockstar”, another lost tune released.
