T-FILE026 was a remix of a tune by Kriotek originally released as T-FILE011 in 2008. Now, T-FILE027 is a remix of “Tsar” by Kaiza featuring Isotop and Shots (released in 2009 as T-FREE059), done by Kriotek in 2010. Kriotek are a producer crew consisting of 3 artists from 2 countrys: Proton Kid and Nufojah from Romania and Blastphemik from UK. They experiment with different forms of broken beats in technoid and minimal Drum & Bass, Dubstep and other styles of dance music. Here they have given the tune “Tsar” a proper facelift and demonstrate, along the way, that Techno-DNB is still very much alive and evolving, regardless of internet debates and genre clichés. The remix updates the uncompromisingly percussive concept of the original with a much improved sound, an angry bassline and a massive, pumping beatloop. The result is a thick wall of bouncing rythm and driving energy; in other words: pure awesome. Watch out for Proton Kid’s solo productions and do not miss the Kriotek EP forthcoming on T3K!

Kaiza + Shots - “Starkstrom” –> 320 kbps mp3 (mirror)

Kaiza from Mannheim is without doubt the most active Techno-DNB artist in Germany. He was one of the first artists to systematically focus on this style together with his former studio partner amex and actually coined the term “Techno-DNB” in early 2004. He has actively shaped this music and the scene on many levels ever since its official formation in 2005, and in 2009 alone he has produced over 70 tunes together with Shots, Try and Error, Isotop, D-Struct, Bassrk, Eiton, Mefjus and other artists; plus he released over 40 of them in all formats and on numerous labels, including his own digital imprint T3K and his mother label Tilt-Recordings (& T-Files), which he co-founded in 2003, and the affiliate netlabel T-FREE. Aside from producing and releasing technoid Drum & Bass, maintaining his own label for technoid Drum & Bass and playing mostly Neurofunk and technoid Drum & Bass when being booked to events, Kaiza has been covering almost all facets of Drum & Bass in his mixes over the past years, but also Reggae/Dancehall, Dubstep, House, Techno and Hiphop. Furthermore he has been hosting the weekly and versatile Drum & Bass radio show DMF since 2001 and used to organize parties for Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Techno, House and Breaks in the Mannheim area.

Shots is a very talented and crazy producer hailing from Palatinate (near Mannheim) in Germany. He first appeared at the surface of the scene with his fulminant debut “Burning Identity” (together with his long time studio partner Isotop) on T-FREE in early 2008 and then released a handful of collaborations with Isotop and The Phalanx plus three solo tunes on Tilt-Reordings (& T-Files), T-FREE, Wayside and T3K; and he started to occasionally make tunes together with Kaiza in fall 2008. In the course of 2009, the two artists put out 6 straight collaborations and 10 more tunes together with Isotop on vinyl, digital labels and netlabels like Metafiziq, Abducted, Fish Recordings and Anxiety Disorder and of course the already mentioned Kaiza affiliated labels. And still there are many more tunes on the release schedule…

www003: Kaiza + Shots - “Starkstrom” (free 320 kbps mp3) by Internet Recordings

Two tunes by Kaiza, Try and Error, Isotop and Shots have been released via Abducted Recordings (ABDIG016) on November 13th:

Kaiza feat. Try and Error - “Eon” –> 64 kbps clip
Isotop + Shots + Kaiza - “Relay” –> 64 kbps clip

320 kbps mp3 available on Beatport, Juno, Trackitdown, Digital-Tunes, Beatsdigital

This heavy release is sure to indulge any Drum and Bass enthusiast across the globe. Kaiza, Try and Error’s track, Eon lures you in gently with rolling drums and then begins slowly assaulting your eardrums with Kaiza’s unique blend of bass and synth hits. A sinister melody of twisted sounds that are sure to send any dance floor into a craze. Relay by Isotop, Shots and Kaiza boasts the same brutal technique, but with a slightly different approach. Utilizing a wider variety of sounds such as a heavy reece and multiple one shot hits, they manage to take a more minimalist approach to a very intricate sound design.

Feedback::

Hektik (Owner of Tilt Recordings)

“Relay” is, like all 3-way collaborations between Isotop, Shots and Kaiza, an interesting combination of their different approaches both technically and musically. It is a hybrid between technoid and “minimal” Drum & Bass with a dose of Neurofunk in it. A compact beat with fast paced high end percussions accompanied by a very subtle reece midrange accentuation on a broody hover bassline sets the stage for a playful arrangement of synth stabs and bleeps edited with reverb and other fx. In summary, the three created a soundscape of electronic dance music with characteristics similar to classical dub reggae but in a modern technoid Drum & Bass shape.

T3K brought you several solo tunes from German producer Shots (see T3K002,T3K003, T3K004) and some collabs (see T3K005, T3K007, T3K008). T3K always was very proud to have him onboard and tried to push his name to the minds of other DNB heads. And T3K will be loyal to this man! It has been a while, but now it is time for a furious comeback called “Fahrenheit” which is a collab-track with Kaiza. This one is just about fusing Techno and Drum N Bass in its purest form and if tested on dancefloors you will see that it is built to set them on fire…

Kaiza and Shots are both sick producers, and when coming together they are a force to be reckoned with. Now they have done it again… After their wicked collabo “Purple View” [T-FILE020] and two more tunes just recently released on Ogonek’s label Metafiziq, they return to Tilt-Recordings / T-Files with this simplified, heavy and bouncing Techno-DNB stomper: Aggressive halfbar looptechno, no skulls needed. And it comes in the already well known fashion of bringing two different versions, original and VIP - to serve the principle of variation and variety and to please the Techno-DNB forum VIP crew ;)

Two tunes by Kaiza and Shots have been released via Ogonek’s label Metafiziq (MTFZ004D) just now:

Kaiza + Shots - “Pravda” –> 128 kbps clip
Kaiza + Shots - “Betaload” –> 128 kbps clip

320 kbps mp3 available on ithinkmusic, Digital-Tunes, Juno, Beatsdigital.

Review by DJ Hektik (Tilt-Recordings / T-FREE / DMF / Trio-Music, Mannheim):

“Pravda” puts together the best of Kaiza and Shots; it is a 110% Techno
Drum & Bass stepper. The drums, the percussions, stabs and the bassline
form a bouncy and counter-dynamic yet intelligent halfbar loop
construction which is constantly changed and broken up with things like
driving additional ghost bassdrums, many edits and some of these twisted
Shots trademark synths. The result is heavy pressure, the famous
mashhand and a dirty smile.

“Betaload” is psychedelic dance music made by crazy robots for crazy
robots. A bouncy bassline drives a hacked and driving beat through a
strange wonderworld rich of machine-like stabs, fx and different
soundrooms. It is very varied and more the opposite of minimal, and yet
it is hypnotic in a schitzoid way… A rather unusual and experimental,
nonetheless dancefloor-suited tune from Kaiza and Shots.

“Koo” by Isotop + Shots + Kaiza has been released on the netlabel Fish Recordings (FISH001):

–> 320 kbps mp3 (mirror)

there is a new net-label called fish recordings:

fish recordings is another one of those unknown, not really needed and
superficial attempts to gain acceptance within an underground
music-scene which are usually called “label”.
it is based right in the middle of nowhere (and if you are honest you do
not really want to know!). dj zoidberg and mc moby dick, the two
dilettantes behind this fun project will do a lot to get some attention:
they take some stupid beats, a bit of unfunny artwork and too much silly
promo texts and release it for free (due to the fact that nobody will
buy this crap!)
music should be a fun thing and bring people together to have a good
time. so, dont get fat-assed sitting at your computer, having no friends
and life and being broke all the time like the idiots running this right
here and take the stuff and show it to everybody!

here it is, the first release on fish recordings:

isotop + shots + kaiza - “koo” [fishrecordings / FISH001]

you have to face the truth: dnb is dead, the hype is over and nobody is
selling any records nowadays. young girls are interested in tech-house
and minimal affairs now and so guys follow: parties are empty, labels
have to be shut down and radiostations loose the last listeners.
what is the reason behind this developments?
girls do not want to take part in a scene of bloodthirsty, braineating
and brutal zombies misbehaving on dancefloors and showing how hard they
are by cutting off the arms of others to wave them around. and thats the
main point in most of the tunes at the moment: they are grimey, dark and
bloody all the way…
the artists behind this tune tried to do something different back then.
but this track does not represent the style of them anymore, so they are
back in producing grimey, dark and bloody stuff again for a bunch of
people liking to be bloodthirsty, braineating and brutal who want to
misbehave on dancefloors and show how hard they are by cutting off the
arms of others to wave them around!

A remix by Kaiza and another Isotop/Kaiza/Shots collabo tune have been released via the netlabel Anxiety Disorder:

Valevo - “Atmos” (Bonus Remix)
Valevo - “Atmos”
Stereotype - “Chloride”
Stereotype - “Biohazard”
Isotop + Kaiza Feat. Shots - “Hybrid” –> 320 kbps mp3 mirror
Gomez - “Bankai”
Cyclone - “Acetylene” (Kaiza Remix) –> 320 kbps mp3 mirror
Bowser - “Isozoid”

This is more madness from the man they call Shots (he recently pulled out tunes on Tilt-Recordings, T-Files, T-FREE and T3K Recordings). “Hadron” is another wicked example of his ingenuity with additional work by his partner in crime Isotop to complement it soundwise. After a very sick intro, Shots shows his vision of techno-influenced drum n bass: pounding halfbar drums combined with mind-twisting synth stabs create a flying dagger aiming for your head. Be aware…

“Sourcream Remixes” [T-FREE-LP001]

In 2006, a team of two producers from the Trio-Music crew made the tune “Sourcream”, released on vinyl later in the same year. Since then it has been remixed by quite a number of producers. And even though the duo behind the original has split in 2007, some of these remixes were just too good to remain unreleased. Thus, a remix album on T-Files was planned in 2008. But it did not come out as planned because one remix was not yet finished and the project was put to a halt, waiting for the last remix. Now that last remix is ready and the plan could be realized, but some time has passed and artists have moved on musically: the remixes do not anymore represent their sound and style today. So they are now finally released as an LP on T-FREE for teh ages.

1. Histibe - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
2. Cyclone - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
3. Tamas - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
4. The Phalanx - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
5. Isotop + Shots - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
6. Raytem - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)
7. Spinor - “Sourcream RMX” (320 kbps mp3, mirror)

Kaiza and Shots put their ideas together for this seriously twisted Techno-DNB stepper. Its Bassline, beat, stabs and percussions, arranged in a beautiful 100% counter-dynamic call and response play, create a hefty drive. This concludes the first 20 T-Files releases and more can be expected in the near future.
