This heavy release is sure to indulge any Drum and Bass enthusiast across the globe. Kaiza, Try and Error’s track, Eon lures you in gently with rolling drums and then begins slowly assaulting your eardrums with Kaiza’s unique blend of bass and synth hits. A sinister melody of twisted sounds that are sure to send any dance floor into a craze. Relay by Isotop, Shots and Kaiza boasts the same brutal technique, but with a slightly different approach. Utilizing a wider variety of sounds such as a heavy reece and multiple one shot hits, they manage to take a more minimalist approach to a very intricate sound design.

“Relay” is, like all 3-way collaborations between Isotop, Shots and Kaiza, an interesting combination of their different approaches both technically and musically. It is a hybrid between technoid and “minimal” Drum & Bass with a dose of Neurofunk in it. A compact beat with fast paced high end percussions accompanied by a very subtle reece midrange accentuation on a broody hover bassline sets the stage for a playful arrangement of synth stabs and bleeps edited with reverb and other fx. In summary, the three created a soundscape of electronic dance music with characteristics similar to classical dub reggae but in a modern technoid Drum & Bass shape.

The sixth release of the netlabel Cyber Crunk came into being in the company of German artists Kaiza, Try and Error. You’ve certainly heard their productions on MindTech, Tilt, Metafiziq, T-Free, etc… Today here is on CCK with two technoid songs entitled “Left Spin” and “Demons In My Head”.

Vous avez déjà certainement entendu leurs productions sur les labels Mindtech, Tilt, Metafiziq, etc… Les voici aujoud’hui sur Cyber Crunk avec deux morceaux Technoïd intitulés “Left Spin” et “Demons In My Head”.

Here is another technoid outing by the never tired German producer Kaiza and his allies Try and Error. It rolls forward very much with the Kaiza-typical fast staccato percussions which are nearly inaudible to the untrained ear but form a dynamic core within the centre of the reduced, straight halfbar beat. The bassline and bassdrums together with the snare form a virtual 4/4 structure which is broken by a concert of stabs and mangled samples and many edits, all in a counterdynamic arrangement, 100% Techno. The tune is significantly different from many older Kaiza productions in that the main elements of the beat are not so dominant in the mixdown but rather merge with the percussion layers and even the bass, creating a dense entity of interchanging rythms (the outro reveals this character of the tune by stripping it almost completely down to the beat).

Here is another quality production by Kaiza feat. Try and Error, continuing their stream of fruitful collaborations. A powerful and compact Techno-DNB tool in two versions, differing in the lead midrange synth being put in 4 bars in the original version respectively in a halfbar arrangement in the VIP version.

Mannheim’s finest Techno-DNB producer and his allies from the Frankfurt area drop another banging technoid tool, with an aggressive midrange riff as the main lead element over pounding beats and a punishing, relentless bassline, reaching another high point in their stream of many fruitful collaborations.

Isotop, Kaiza and Try and Error strike yet again - with the VIP versions of two still unreleased tunes. “Vektor” VIP is a straight forward Techfunk tool with a statical midrange over a a punchy sub bass and a rolling, slightly syncopated non-halfbar-beat; “Assat” VIP (Batuh) is an energetic Techno-DNB tune by Kaiza and Try and Error in traditional fashion: the counter-dynamic arrangement of beat and all the percussion elements does create a dense and driving rhythmic texture (melody being merely a byproduct).

The third Tilt-Recordings Mix-Podcast comes from Try and Error, two promising newcomers from a small town near Frankfurt in Germany. After their debut together with Kaiza on T-Files in April 2009, three tunes following on T-FREE and two on Mind Outside, they have more forthcoming material signed on T-Files, Human Soul, Mindtech and other labels…
With this balance after just half a year of presence, it is time for them to do a promotional mix and showcase their works.
